Jodi Artman was raised in Weston, Connecticut, and graduated from Southern Connecticut State University in 1993 with a bachelor’s degree in American History and Theater, along with a minor in Political Science. Inspired by a desire to make a meaningful impact on younger generations, she pursued a career in education, where she has shared her passion for history through both teaching and curriculum development.

Jodi taught at Livingwood Christian Academy in West Haven, Connecticut, before relocating to North Carolina. Here, she continued her work in education, teaching Art History for Cape Fear Community College’s Adult High School program and tutoring at Wilmington Early College High School.

Her lecture, “Art and Architecture During the Revolutionary War,” reflects her long-standing interest in early American history and highlights how visual culture—from political cartoons to emerging architectural styles—helped shape the identity of a new nation.

Jodi has been married to her husband, Rob, for 30 years. Together, they have two daughters, Jocelyn and Ally, both graduates of Topsail High School.
