The Historical Society of Topsail Island offers a scholarship contest each year. Applicants must be graduating seniors within either the Dixon High School or Topsail High School attendance areas with an unweighted GPA of 2.5 or higher. Early College and homeschooled seniors must live in the Dixon High School or Topsail High School attendance area.
Applicants must choose a historical event which occurred in either Onslow or Pender County and present that information in a written essay of at least 750 words or in an original piece of Art, or an original Song, or original Poetry. Each piece must demonstrate complete understanding of the eventand its historical importance.
Scholarships range in amount from $1,000.00 to $6,000.00.
